Default Help Please (Forward Controls)

Ok, I have been having trouble with mounting the shifter controls on my 94 sporty 1200. I have tried messing with it all afternoon and there is something I am just not getting. The lever just keeps going past the fulcrum point before a shift. I have to go to work tomorrow and would really like to be able to use this instead of putting the stock shifter back on and riding with a staggered control type thing. Any help would be awesome! Thanks guys!

Not sure what kit that is but it looks like the linkage is too short

I'm not sure what kind either. My father in law took the kit off the bike a few years ago but since then had a stroke and doesn't remember how it went back on. But apparently this is everything with the kit so I am leaning towards me being in the wrong...

It is a Custom Chrome kit. Father in law found his receipt from DK. Pdf instructions online. The bracket was upside down. Just couldn't see it. Oh well, lesson learned! And thank you for the help!
