Hey guys, looking for ideas on turning this forty eight I got here, into my forty eight. I have a few options in mind but still figuring it all out.
Im getting some apes and was wondering what a quick release windshield would look like. The forty eight hasnt really struck me as a bike with a windshield, more of a nice flush fairing. If I get apes, I dont think i would like the look of a fairing, so Im playing with the idea of a windshield. Plus long trips are such a beating : /
If you got a forty eight with apes, please post your pics!!!

Thats the way I was after I first got it. I bought a lot of stuff that didnt stay on for very long. Slow down..........put some miles on her............look at all the pics on here and elsewhere. Then figure out a direction you want to go. Much cheaper that way.
12" Nash Gimps...or Grits...hell I dont remember. Don't get a windshield. I hear the toughest part about owning a Sportster with a windshield is having to tell your parents that you're gay.

LMAO. Im guessing windshields arent the best idea.
To OP, ive got about 15k on her so far, I have a few ideas I know are going to stick, but im still back and forth with the majority of whats going to be added to my bike.
I'm just giving you a tough time. Do whatever you please. I've just never seen a windshield that didn't look like it was just stuck on as an afterthought. If you need one to ride, so be it.
Not a full face guy. Although I was looking at 60's style open face helmets with shields. They remind me too much of those sophisticated dudes on those huge BMW bikes though.

I didn't figure you were worried about looking cool, I mean... you are the one inquiring about putting a windscreen on a 48? Im too pretty to have my face removed by the road, and the sooner I recover if I do get into an accident, the sooner I can get back to riding. to each their own, find what works for you and go get in the wind!!!
