I use that one. Its been on my bike for over a year and probably 5000 miles or more. No problems or issues. You shouldn't need a shorter stand, I don't atleast. I run this bracket plus a set of air ride shocks. So when parked my fender pretty much sits on my rear tire. Stock stand works just fine.

Bought a set and they looked well made. Install and they didn't quit fit Had a set of 412 13/5 progressive shocks that the block wouldn't work with. Would have if I'd had stock shocks though.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-LOWERING-K...4f44ba&vxp=mtr

Got a set of these and they work great. The block lies along the frame and distributes the load evenly across it. Really simple to install too!!!

I'd ride a Honda before I'd push a Harley. Hell Honda's are good bikes. I love my sportster and have not had any problems with her at all but If I had some of the problems that Ive seen on this form and the way stealerships deal with them I'd be drivin a honda right now. Guess I'm good though my bike is ridin great!

thanks for the replies.
being in the UK its harder to get these over here.
plus over here, the stock shocks are 13"

im not crapping over honda's. i used to own a CBR. honda make some of the most reliable engines iv known of.
but they have no soul.
i guess if i had some of the major pain in the *** problems iv heard of on here, then the soul of the harley might take the back seat to the reliability of the honda.
but iv also been lucky and i cant imagine riding anything but my harley

I ride a EG but i did use similar lowering blocks on it, lowered it 3 inches, my fender would rub pretty bad 2 up so i had to keep the shocks aired up tight. Just a couple things to think about and you might of already, if your fender does rub is it going to rip out your wireing for the brake and turn signals and is there any bolts sticking out the bottom of your fender that you cant see that will cut the tire if it rubs. I have no knowledge at all about anything on your kind of bike so these may not even be a factor but its something you might think about when lowering it.

yeah thank man, i wasn't planning on using the whole 3 inches for that exact reason.
i hoping to just lower it 2" to take it to the standard USA size instead of the European stupid 13".
i feel like there is a HUGE gap between my tire and fender

Dump the "pretend" harley shocks and buy something decent like progressives or Burley then you will have both. Those stock shocks are shyte..

Im sure you roads where you are are no worse than they are down here

so you think 11.5" progressives would be of a similar quality to stock 13" harley shocks.
so i would get the same ride quality but with a lower ride?
i was thinking of eventually upgrading to 13" progressives, or hagons. so if i have the lowering kit AND 13" progressives then i would have an improved ride plus the lower ride
