Default Full Face Helmet bucket effect

I prefer wearing a full face helmet, but find that the low exhaust tone of my stock Sportster really is amplified in my helmet. I've tried all kinds of things to reduce this effect. Anyone else try to address this effect?

I use foam ear plugs and they get rid of all the wind noise and a lot of the exhaust noise...and they are cheap to boot..

That's your best bet. Unless you manage to install noise cancelling earbuds or something else but ear plugs are cheap and work great.

I use the ones on a string that are made of 1-3 sections of soft plastic(either 1 solid canal shaped ends or the 3 fin ribbed kind). They work great and you wont lose them. I also use any non working earbuds(insert kind) that stop working from my kids Ipods. I just cut the cord an inch below the earplug.

Wearing a good full-face helmet actually reduces some of the noise other helmets can cause. That makes other noises seem louder!

We should all wear ear plugs on any but short trips, to protect against hearing loss.

Put a windshield on it. You'll never hear your exhaust, just sewing machine noises coming from your engine.

Same happen to me. Now one of my ears has a beeping sound, to late for that one!. Now I use foam ear plug and so far so good. Still thinking to spend some money on custom ear plug with noise cancellation.

I haven't had this come up, I ride with a Shoei, might try one and see if it helps with the noise.
