Rick from Orange County Choppers just tweeted a photo of them chopping up a 48 tank for their next build. From what I know, it will be a softail raked out chopper using a Sugar Bear front end. Should be interesting to see how the 48 tank works with the bike.
Stupid question....but why bother chopping up an expensive 48 tank instead of a cheap aftermarket 2.2 tank? The raked out softail with an SB front end on his instagram is a Panhead...so why bother removing all the EFI crap? Unless they plan on adapting an EFI setup to the Pan? Who knows.
The tank came off of a friend of Senior's 48 who swapped out the tank for a 3.3 gallon tank. So the 48 tank was a donor. Feel free to ask me how I know, just don't tar and feather me later. I like this forum.
