Why are you so Critical? Whats his number of post and the price he paid for is bike got to do with anything?
ORIGINAL: nobody special

Insurance may not pay a claim if they find out!

I see you are a senior member with almost 500 posts, You don't have a license, paid way too much for a 883, dropped the bike and the gas cap etc. etc. What's up with all that?

Thanks! I didn't catch that ******. You know. I have put over 1200 miles on my bike and I consiter myself to be a safe rider. Yeah the second day I owned her I dumped her but the first time since I was 12 that I ever dumped a bike. Furthermore, I'm going to do everything I can to make sure I don't wind up as a statistic or as someone's hood ornament. As far as insurance is concerned, I have full coverage. As far as the bike price, everything in Dallas is expensive. This area has a very high household income and we get taken advantage of all the time by dealerships. I just should have done my home work.

I meant no harm. I guess it struck me a bit odd that with all the time reading, posting, and answering questions here that Dallas didn't shop around, didn't have a license and appeared to me tohave very little expierience. It was just an observation and in retrospect should have stayed in my head and not made it down to my fingers. None of which make him a bad person!

As for the insurance, Buying it and having it ar two different items. If you are involved in an accident you get a police report. No seatbelt (in a car) can prevent the paying of a claim. No helmet (in helmet states)same, No license may cause a forfeit of benefits. So just cause you have it..... read the fine print.

go stand in the parking lot, at a Rider's Edge course, and watch people dump bikes.... we all do it, we also ride off the parking lot, and stop in the grass... or maybe that's just me... it's called learning..... one of the first things they tell you in class, is that a motorcycle is unforgiving, and it will bite you in the ***, if your not paying attention....

I've had my motorcycle endorcement since I was 14. Well, kinda. In TN you can get a highly restricted "motordriven cycle" license when you're 14. Then when I turned 16 it automatically became a Motorcycle License when I got the car license. Eventhough I didn't ride for 25 years. I kept that Motorcycle Endorcement in place.

There must be a lot of people that ride without it. I've had to produce my license several times in the last 9 months. Most of the time, the officer seeems surprised that I have a motorcycle license.

The streets were too bad to ride this morning. The trooper shut any driving tests off. I'm going to go next thursday. My daughter is going to follow with the trooper and I requested the day off. It will be 50. What sucks is you get there at 7:00 and wait. I took the prelim written test and got a 100.
