Bucking/Surging over rougher roads? Not motor related.
2012 883 Iron
She runs and drives great on smooth roads. On rougher roads, when trying to maintain a constant speed and/or rpm, she bucks and surges while the rear end is absorbing the road.
Is this normal with the Iron due to it's limited suspension? Or could this be a symptom of the belt too tight? I recently had new tires mounted and wondered if they did not get the belt back to spec.
I also just had the 1000 mile service done, and assumed the belt tension would be checked.
could just be your hand on the throttle making ever so slight changes when you hit bumps
Yes, it may be partially due to this. I actually adjusted my throttle play and it got better. Still sucks right now on the rougher roads though. I can't remember if it was like this off the lot.

+1 - You don't need to "lock" the throttle though, just tighten the star wheel enough to hold the throttle steady so you can loosen your grip on the throttle without it closing on its own.
So I guess this is not a symptom of a belt with too much tension? If this is the nature of the beast, I can deal with it. I just wanted to get opinions on if there was something not right.
