I dont understand the disbelief. Would everyone be as shocked if I said I traded my Lincoln LS in for a Mustang? Its not less of a car just different, just as the sporty is not less of a bike just different.
By the way I prefer my couches to have 4 wheels so Ill keep my lincoln.

My ex-wife traded her Heritage for an 883C. She bought the Heritage thinking she would go on more road trips, but ended up doing most of her riding around town.
She liked the feel of the Sporty in that kind of riding and the better MPG.
I ride my Sporty everywhere. Always have. Got over 30,000 on my '08. One of these days I'll get an RK or Ultra for the storage.
