cam timing help
I'm just curious if anyone has any help for me on timing cams on an 08 nightster. It seems like all the links I find either don't work or are for older models. I pulled the cam cover off in order to powdercoat it. I attempted to keep the cams in place and failed at it. I'd rather not buy a manual for just this purpose. I already have the rocker boxes off to coat them so I figured I'd get the cams figured out now.

You need the manual. I wouldn't recommend that you build the cam chest without the proper instructions. You'll need all sorts of information. You could easily do more than the cost of a manual in damage.
I'm a reasonably experienced spanner but I wouldn't work without a proper manual. I always include the cost of one in the purchase of any of my bikes.
