Nice! If I had a "C" that's the one I'd want. I'm just going to go with the factory one for my Nightster though: http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US The digital ones are cool but you just can't beat the look of needles on bikes that are old-school looking to begin with. Just my $.02

I haven't been overly impressed with the tach options for Sportsters. I do like the Dakota Digital gauge, but I think I'd rather have an analog one.

Does that work on a Nightster? If so, that's what I'll go with. (why do they only list 883s as compatible... )

watch eBay for factory tachs. The trigger is fired off the coil - so any electronic tach for any HD product should work. The gauges themselves are the same physical dimensions whether we're talking about XLs or BTs.

Get a Digital Dakota tach. The red one will keep your bike feeling more "retro" and the blue one if you want a more modern look in my opinion. I got the Blue one, but kind of wish I got the red one.

I got mine for $277.XX shipped from bigbadpowersports.com and it was here in less than week.

Use this promo code till the end of July: 011122 (for 10% off)

I am NOT associated with this company and have never ordered from them till I saw that their price on Dakota Digital gauges were $30-$40 cheaper than anywhere else I looked...

Good luck!

How easy to read is the Dakota digital out in direct sunlight?
(I'd have the same concern with the power vision too)

With the PV it is fine 99% of the time. The odd time when the sun is directly on it you can't see it. You can change the display colors and background on it to make it easier to see also. They do sell a metal visor for it as well.
