Taking the class now. Just had my first classroom session and it was really geared towards someone who has never even looked at a bike and knows nothing about them. I've never ridden before myself but I sure as hell know the controls of a bike and about proper riding gear. Needless to say that was a boring 3 hours but it seemed like a few of the people in the class benefited from it. I guess the instructors have to start at the very basics and work up. I'm hoping the next class session I can learn a thing or two but I'm more so looking forward to saturday and sunday riding days. I figure I'd rather practice and learn on their bikes than hopping on mine for the first time haha. But in Florida you have to take a class to get your endorsement and I'll get an insurance discount. Classroom days may be pointless for anyone that has ever done a little research on bikes but I should benefit from the riding days

I took the basic class about 10 years ago and learned a lot. I also take the advanced course every few years to refresh my skills and especially when I buy a new bike since you use your own bike in the advanced/skilled rider course. I learn something new every time I take it.

I haven't taken yet, but went to bowling green, ky today and waiting for a call back to sign up, plus I am going to check and see if Fort Knox has one. You can never be too safe out here, it's all good knowledge for all riders.

These courses rock! I felt a little unsure when I initially signed up for the course, but as soon as I attended the first session I knew it was the right thing to do. I learned a ton, and met some really cool people there too.

I can't imagine anyone that took the course ever regretting it!

I took the advanced course about a month ago and it has helped a lot with confidence.

Here's a trick, keep your eyes and head up, apply a little rear brake, stay in the friction zone (just like rlap). Truly helps, and can do the course on a 250 or a fully dressed bagger.

Looks like your from the same area as me, I live in Hodgenville just south of Elizabethtown. I know that Ft. Knox has a course, its required there now that you have to take the course before you can even ride on base. I don't know where you would go about signing up though. But Elizabethtown Community Technical College puts one on also. I took it last year and they had a promotional going on and it was $50 cheaper so it may be worth your while to check it out.

DO you guys take the MSF one that is through the colleges, or the one from harley?

Also, If you are a hog member, you can be re-imbursed up to $50 for taking an msf class. Plus the ones from the college are about $20

price depends upon the state (some governments pay more than others for the class). missouri is 215.00 for MSF 300 or so for Riders Edge. Riders Edge uses MSF material. No reason to pay more for Riders Edge if you have an MSF course nearby.
