Hi All, as I explained in New Members I've been a long time lurker. Now I have a question I haven't found an answer to.
2005 XL883, virtually stock. 30,000+ miles on it. Throughout most of the bike's history I've alternated 5k miles services, i.e. dealer for 5k, I did the 10k, dealer for 15k, I did 20k, etc. My owners manual only outlines services & maintenance up to 25,000 miles. Whaaa? Nobody rides a Sporty past 25,000 ?
So ... can anybody tell me what services are performed beyond 25K? Do I just start over with the 5k services? 10K? Or just do the oil/filter/transmission fluids change and adjust/fix as I go along?
You got it. You pretty much start over. It's basically just an elapsed miles kind of thing. On Sportsters you can just alternate between 5k and 10k. There's nothing else special for our bikes in between those.
