Default Need help with fuel quick connect

Hello. I have a '09 Nightster 1200, which I recently pulled apart to swap fork springs to Race Techs and Intimidators. Pulled the tank to clean up wrap and make sure I didn't do anything else that would ding the tank, have it all back together, but when I install the fuel line into the quick connect, it leaks and wasn't prior to tearing it apart. Is there an o-ring on the fuel line male fitting? I don't have one on now, tried one I picked up at Lowes, but it's too large in diameter for the coupler side.

Any help would be much appreciated! Can't try my new fork setup until I can get fuel to the beast. Thanks!

No not on male end but there is one inside the female end . You might have just pushed it out of place or could have nicked it.

Thanks fourburgs. What I should have done was search the forum sooner. Plenty of other threads here about leaky quick coupler fittings. Many folks replaced the entire female fitting requiring a removal of the tank, pump assembly and the entire quick connect female fitting. What a PiA, and I pulled my tank resolved to call the stealer in the morning.

After reading your reply and reading what others have done on the site, I flipped the tank over, and using a Harbor Freight dental pic, fished the lower o-ring from the female QC. I had picked up a pack of o-rings from Lowes earlier, thinking the male was missing an o-ring. Turns out it was a close match so I tried it by using the pic to push it down to where it should ride. Put it on the bike and attached the line. Got a drop of gas, but it stopped and I haven't had a drop out yet. I'll check again in the morning, but all looks good so far.

The Lowes o-ring part is Repair O-ring #83, which measures 1/2" O.D. X 5/16" I.D. X 3/32" (#96711)

Hope this helps someone else who may have the problem. Good luck and thanks.
