I'm in the middle of doing my bars, chopping the fender, adding springs/struts, and I decided to move my headlight as I wait for various parts to come in.
I could not find a bracket that would accomplish what I wanted to do for the 48; only the eyebrow mounts. Searching the forums I saw one guy make a big rod (didn't like it) and I saw someone else use a 90 degree curved bracket that looked good but I couldn't find one. So, I decided to try my hand at some custom fabrication.
I took some 16 guage steel and on the first one I just freehanded an outline. It's about 4" up, 2" out and 1" wide. Cut it out with a jigsaw and used the first one to trace the second. Then I drilled the holes and took my grinder to the edges to make sure everything could still move. Used a spacer between the headlight tabs on top. Haven't rode with it yet but turned her on and it's pretty solid.
Fairly easy to do so I figured I'd share the process with my fellow 48s. I'm sure it's been done many times but I couldn't find anyone selling one.
