I have Screaming Eagle II slip ons on my 2002 1200 XLC (thanks to the guy that owned it before me). Sounds good, but I'd like it to be a tad bit louder. I saw this video, and the guy is talking about replacing the baffles with Cycle Shack baffles. Has anyone on hear had any experience with these? Sounds like a good way (<$40) to get it a little louder.
I hear a lot of good things about Big City Thunder baffles (http://www.bigcitythunder.com) they have baffles made to go into the SE II slip ons for better, and more sound. No personal experience, but lots of guys swear by them.
I have Cycle Shacks with removable Cycle Shack baffles. The CS baffles are some of the best baffles out there. It will be louder, and because of the little scoop they have at the front of the baffle they are more effective for low and mid range power.
I also run Thunder Torque Inserts along with the CS baffles for even more power. On another bike, I am running NO baffles with just the Thunder Torques. It produces great power all the way thru, but it is pretty loud.
DK, did you put the baffles in yourself? If so, how difficult was it? I'm not as mechanically inclined as I would like to be so I was wondering if was something I'd be off paying somebody to do.
Thanks for letting me know about the torque inserts. I'm gonna look more into that.
If your SE-IIs are the same as mine, they have the removable baffle as well as an inner fibreglass lined sleeve. I bought mine used, only one had the inner sleeve. In an effort to balance them, I removed the other as well. You could try removing them, that will likely make them louder. And it's free to try.

My CS slip-ons came with the removable baffles already installed. However, I have taken them out and put them back in. Just one bolt holding them in.
