short shot baffles
Installed a set a vance&hines short shots on my 04 1200xl. The stock baffles are to quiet for me so i took the baffles out. It sounds ok but hate the noise when i let off. Any ideas on a set of bafffles that would be loud without the annoying noise

i have the short shots with standard baffles, (they are tapered, hollow and have a lacerated pattern that is all) i removed them but it sounded like doghsit when i let off the throttle so i put them back in, im waiting on some w118 thunder torque baffles from DK customs, said to lower the tone and increase mid range torque. Haven't received them yet but ill let you know what they are like if you want? think they where only $25 or something.

id like to know what you think of the torque baffels, i pulled mine(stock baffels) from the short shots and dont really like that sound either... i just pull the clutch in when i need to let off now cause i love how loud it is but cant stand the nasty sound when letting off

I put "Big City Thunder" Baffles in mine and when you let off the gas it sounds like a hopped up V8 or a Jake Brake on an 18 wheeler.
I love the sound and performance I get out of them.
I didnt like the brassy note of the stock V&H pipes and this helped me out alot

I assume you're referring to the sound of your bike sounding like it has a horrible cough without those baffles? lol I took mine out, put them back and bought the X14IEDS and took them out again and now I do not get that horrible sound, just loud as heck...I also have a heavy breather though.

the dk w118 thunder cones went in, had to make the screw hole slightly bigger for the thread in the exhaust but other than that is was an easy fit. they sound deeper and do give more low-mid range torque. i made a video but because it was on an iphone it sounds *****.
take the V&H baffles that you removed and cut them in half. put them back in, you can keep cutting some off until you get the sound you want. everytime you cut some off itll get a little louder but you'll still not have the burp sound when you let off
