So I decided to get rid of the visor headlight and drill my triple for a nice black bobber/bullet headlight. I'll prob go with the DNA springer bottoms mount. My question is, will I need a 5 3/4 or a 4 1/2 diameter headlight. I don't want the light to be too big and rub on the neck when I turn the bars. I think they are like 6in deep too. I plan on drilling from the bottom in the curved crease that's on the bottom of the lower triple. Any farther back I think it will rub. Any suggestions on lights or mounting locations would be great. Pics even better
Ive seen that bracket but its expensive as hell. do you have any pics of it on the bike?
looks really good. what light is that?
I'll see if I can get a pic of it mounted. IMO, you can't even tell its there. Yes, it is expensive compared to drilling a hole, but how much is a lower tree if you mess it up?
I drilled my lower tree. That aluminum drills easy. Step up a few sizes until you reach the desired bit size. I fabricated a block out of 3/4 in stock and mounted a light to that. I also took a piece of steel and formed it to fit inside the concave spot under the tree as a spacer. I suppose if you just used a thick washer that would work too.
