hey i was lookin at doing the auto meter relacate since i cant find anything to replace the stock one. my question is where do u get the housing for the speedo to drop in where the speedo reset button fits on it so your not clamping the exposed plastic of the speedo? thanks
hey man, i did the relocation with the auto meter bracket. i just wrapped the plastic in elec tape to black it out. the rubber gasket from the bracket stops the metal from damaging the housing of the speedo. holds fine and doesn't break anything due to how thick the rubber mount is in the bracket. not sure if this helps but i'm 100% happy with the auto meter bracket relocation option.
I used the housing . I cut the bracket with indicator lights , ground down the welds & ground the bracket straight across . Sanded down the crinkle paint & repainted with flat black.
I like the uncluttered handlebars now & the speedo is still fairly easy to read .
