Rode my bike into work this morning again and it was 38 degrees with a chance of flurries tonight. Well it started snowing pretty good around2 and was still going at 3 so when it slowed down I decided to go ahead and ride back home and get the car before it got any worse and I didn't feel like waiting till nightfall to be riding with all the nutty cagers out and about in the dark with snow falling obscuring their view any worse.
Man I would love to say I am riding to work tomarrow. But with the temp going in to the -15 or even lower. And with 8 inches of snow on the ground.I dare not ride. I wish one day I could say I am riding to work in the month of Feb.
My husband is like you all, he will ride to work when the temps arein the high 20's and 30's! And he gets off work at 4:30 a.m.! He won't ride if there's a chance of rain or snow along with the cold though. He has to stop 2 or 3 times on the way home to warm up his hands --he rides 37 miles each way, no windshield. The guys at work can't believe he does it, but he loves riding that much. He hasn't been able to ride to work for a few wks now, but we've been able to get the bikes out on the weekends when it has warmed up to my cutoff temp of 45 Needless to say, we are ready for Spring. All in all though, this has been a pretty mild winter and we've been able to ride much more than in the past years, so we're not complaining too much.
Supposed to be about 35 degrees in the morning when i leave for work. I haven't rode my bike in almost a week soI'll probably ride in the morning also. Besides it's kinda fun seeing all the people all bundled up in their cars with the heater blasting staring at you in disbelief.
I've come to the conclusion that I'm the only sane person on this forum, or maybe my skin has gotten too thin (I used to ride the dirt in snow), but ride when the temps get close to freezing? I'm one of those people you see, PigInaBlanket, bundled up in my car with the heater blasting, staring at you in disbelief. [sm=wootwoot.gif]
It's ok ronn39 I pussed out and didn't ride in the brisk 20 degree weather this morning and instead flipped the heater on and rode in my car. I am so ashamed.
It is supposed to be in the low to mid 50s tomorrow so I can make up for the lost ride this morning tomorrow.
i had the exact same deal. i got a new mustang seat after months of torture on the stockseat. the day it came in, dallas had a freak ice storm. i waited until we got back to 35 and theroads cleared.like a little kid, i want to play with my new toys as fast as i get them. by the waylayers and a balaclava really make a difference.
