Alright, I was very bored today at work and I just kept torturing Google for hours. There is no proof beads are better than liquid. That's right, you can use plain water if you live in South or antifreeze if you do not live in South.

I would think water would be no good for your rims. It would cause steel to rust or cast rims to corrode. Maybe inside a tube wouldn't be so bad.

Use some fishing line or something like it to cut the tape and then use GooGone or WD40 to clean off the glue.......

water will corrode the rim.

Work on rims/tires for a little, and you learn this really fast.

Offroaders have been using beads for years. hell, I have even run airsoft beads

Yes, I have worked on tires. So I happen to know there is always plenty of moisture in compressed air we use to inflate our tires. I've used soapy water to stop slow leaks. Last time one of tires on my car ran 25k miles with soapy water in it, until it wore off. I replaced the tire, there was nothing wrong with the rim.

xFreebirdx suggested fishing line... I have used dental floss to saw through the adhesive on badges etc.. then WD40 to remove the sticky stuff.
