I just got my Optimate4 Dual Purpose battery charger today.
I was a little put off that there were very little instructions with it, and the ones provided were difficult to understand. (For me at least, I have little knowledge in this area).
What I would like to know is, can I leave the charger plugged into my bike over the winter until the spring? Will it over charge the battery?
It has a second mode "Can-Bus" would this be something I would ever use?
I have the same one. Just plug it in and let it do it's thing. I left mine plugged in for 4 months straight last winter without even touching the bike. Started up right away in the spring! These things are idiot proof.
I have three Opimates plugged into my various vehicles. I've used them for many years and you can fit and forget! I suspect if you plug it into a canbus vehicle it will detect that and switch over automatically.
