Default Which Progressive shocks

Looking for a little bit of a smoother ride so looking into progressive shocks.

Bike 2008 Nightster

Me 5'11" 230lbs.

Just looking for personal experiences or recommendations. Also height of the shocks would help. Would like to keep around the stock height.

ok not gonna give you reply you want but will give you advice.
THIS COMPANY DO NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I paid about a $1000 for a set of 917s --they leak-- i have e-mailed them they ignore me.
I have raised this issue on this forum a few times and eventually they sent me a pm...not good enough..their shocks look great work great but if you have any problems with them they will (in my experiance) totally ignore you.
buyer beware

I have about 15,000 miles on a set of 13.5" 440 standards, at your weight you'd want the HDs. They are the perfect choice in my experience, I also installed the Progressive fork springs . The front and rear work in perfect harmony, something I learned from riding MAICOs in the 70s. As to customer service, you can't take one guys opinion on that.

Being a long time netizen I can tell one negative review outweighs hundred positive ones.

Besides, I'm really happy with RK air shocks myself, won't break the bank either.

How much do you want to spend on suspension? We've shipped out a few of the new 444's and people are loving them, but thats $400+ shocks.

The 412's are awesome and at a great price.

As far as customer service goes, Progressive has ALWAYS fixed any issue we ever had. They are a top notch company and have been around about 30 years. They're doing something right.

I just put black 412's 11.5 inch HD on my 08 Nightster. Looks and rides awesome. Only raised the seat height like 1/4 inch or so. Get em!!!!

412's and forksprings on my 09 1200L made a huge difference in the ride, as stated
for your weight I would go with the HD version, I have called Progressive customer
service and had great service, They changed my springs on mine when I lost weight
to save me quite a bit, instead of a new set. jcmotors.com was the best price I found
for new. Good luck.

I went with 412s and Progressive Spring with 10wt up front. I'm same height and weight as you and love the ride.

If you're looking for a better ride and the Progressive 412's, I recommend using their 12.5" or longer shocks. The 12.5" and up have a different spring rate that provides a better ride than the 12.0" and shorter 412's. And 1200Cdriver is right, go with the HD (heavy duty) version.
