Default 883 or 1200

I am trying to decide on which bike is right for me. I would prefer to own something old and broken in, but I want a newer bike for reliability. So, 883 or 1200? I don't want a touring or anything like that, just something to run around on and enjoy. What are the biggest differences, as far as performance, and reliability? Any input on Sportsters would be helpful.

no difference in size of the bike from 883-1200,but 1200 will produce more power..really you should do a search on the forum and you will find the info you are looking for..this same question has been asked over and over and it always turns out to be an 883 or 1200 war between the forum members..

Yup.
883 less expensive, 1200 better resale, yes you can do a conversion, 04/newer = smoother rubber mount, and on and on and on... find a bike you like, test ride it, if you like it, buy it. If you find a bike that you're interested in, then post up a pic and some info and we'll be glad to answer any question... there's a wealth of info here. But none of us know you well enough to tell you what bike to buy. Good luck. If you're looking at Sportsters, you're headed in the right direction.

My buddy has a 1200C and hates the black engine. He would prefer if it looked like my 883C. Me, I don't really care... but your claim of "better looking engine" is obviously in the eye of the beholder.

i would say that the looks of the whole bike are in the eye of the beholder..but i can tell you something if someone were to start a poll on black or natural finish on the engine..we would see that many people would agree with me..
