stripped rear upper shock bolt

stripped rear lower shock bolt
took off my belt guard today and while tightening the shock bolt i stripped it....can someone tell me the best way to go about removing it and getting a replacement possibly something other than a torx bolt.

Just buy a regular hex head bolt, grade 5, for an older Sportster. My 1991 has grade 5 hex heads stock.
Also, not every bolt on a Sportster needs to be 250 foot pounds torque. Leave the gorilla in his cage when tightening fasteners.
