has anyone out there come across an aftermarket oil cap in black?

It's plastic. A little sandpaper with rattle bomb primer and paint.
If you remove the bezel, the push nuts and or plactic mounting tangs will be destroyed or broken. I secured my painted bezel with silicone caulk and some tape to clamp it over night. The other option is to get a new bezel and push nuts. You'll see when you look at the back of the side cover.
