I'll second what Madnss said, it's an excellent result. The numbers are really close to what I've been able to squeeze out of a 2007 when set up the same way, albeit with the Patriot exhaust. I've seen guys show enough good results out of the Big Radius that I'm starting to think I should test one.

I'll say my results were a combination of things. Research, listening to my tuners (J and B Performance) on parts, break in, etc. and the tuning J and B did on it. its all the right combination of parts and their know how. I was actually looking at a different exhaust, which would have cost more, and they told me the Big Radius would be the best for what I wanted to do. So with them, they could have made more $$$ off the sale, but did me right and steered me in the right direction. For that, I'll always take my bikes there!

Default 1991 sportster 883 to 1200 conversion shrink ported

First time on a dyno later I found I was running about 13,5 to 1 Fuel air ratio
it was still duel fire at that time my MAC dial back timing light would not work correctly with it I timed it by ear I was in the 42-45 degree range

When I went single fire with a crane HI4 module it liked the multi spark setting along with 30 degrees advance then at 12:1 F.A.R it came alive sorry never went back to the Dyno bot seat of the pants it was better

I shrink ported the heads running 1200 size tulip valves with 10:1 wisco pistions with sportster sport cams

Wow! you guys have some serious HP pumping out of these lil bikes! I have a 15' FortyEight and it has (from previous owner) Cobra slip-ons, but everything else is stock. I just saw that the stage 1 is very doable given that the Cobras are already there. looks like 10% increases in HP and TQ off the bat!!

What do you guys think about buying a used tuner.. I've seen them on offer up for like 100-150.

From what I've read most tuners marry themselves to the bike once you use them. If I sell mine the tuner goes with it because it's useless.

Dynojet can "wipe" your Power vision so it can be married to a new bike for, I believe, $219 or you can buy a tune license that is "married" to one bike but can be used with any Power Vision for the same price. It's a good deal because new Power Visions just jumped in price to right at $700 from Dynojet. You can still get them from a few sources (Hammer) for around $475, but once vendor's stock has dried up be prepared to pay big bucks for one.
