Default Seat Advice

Went on my first long ride on Sunday, about 240 miles. Only problem I had, otherthan the 2.2gal tank, was the solo spring seat was unbearable after the first 50 miles or so. Any suggestions for a 2nd seat for long rides that wont have me swapping from left cheek to right the whole time? Also, any suggestions for a seat that incorperates soft ride with a lip on the back that may provide some lower back support. Thanks

take a solo stock seat and have it locally reworked at an upholstery shop. youll spend half as much as a mustang and hav a one-off totaly custom seat. i did and im happy as hell with mine

I've heard good things about the mustang. I haven't swapped my stock seat yet, but I'm considering those. But also consider shock\suspension upgrades. That could really help too.

Yeah that's a good idea. A lot of places that do automobile upholstery can put a gel pad in.

I really don't want to mod the seat. If I look to sell or trade I want to be able to put back to stock and sell the mod parts seperatly for more money then they would trade them for. Anyone using the Mustang Wide Tripper seat? Thoughts of the passenger seat add-on?

$99 will get you a stock replacement seat that's way more comfy and will hold you on the bike when you twist the throttle. sicksaddles.com

I fell in love with my sick saddles seat. It's small but oh so comfy. I can ride all day. I have a 13' and he made me it to look like the 83 - 03 style solo. It's nice

Try Mean City Cycles. They reworked my stock seat with memory foam and it's a night and day difference. Just tell them what you are looking for.

I'd suggest picking up a used stock seat on eBay for cheap and maybe use that as your starting point that way you can keep your stock seat for resale.

Really? I thought that if you went custom it would be hard to beat than something that's mass produced.
