I've had my choke adjusted to go back in by itself for more than 6 or so years. I've only changed plugs once in those six+ years, and that was just for piece of mind & not because the plugs were fouled. I've also only had to make fine tune adjustments to the **** tensioner & that was due to change of seasons. I'll keep mine so it goes back in slowly by itself.

I'm hoping they make a Willie G clothes pin with skulls on it!

If you get carb farts, you need more enrichment/choke

True, but only when the engine is cold and in the warming process. If the engine is warmed up and you still have the farts, your looking at a mixture screw adjustment or possibly a jet change.

Well just to update a bit on the magical automatic enrichener. I took the bike down to the store this morning and made sure to pay attention to movement of the ****. Reinforcing the "magic" explanation of the poorly adjusted enrichener, I found that it only went to the halfway point after a 30 sec warm up and a light 4 mile ride in 40 degree temps. Now compare that to a 2 mile ride to the freeway in 60 to 65 degrees which I ride every morning during the summer and the choke is always in once i hit that onramp. I know there is probably many explanations for this happening, but i found it entertaining that my little sporty has an enrichener that magically knows when to go in. Oh and as cold as the engine was once i got to the store had i been manually working the choke, i would have had it halfway anyway.

Yeah, it surprises me how many of you didn't know about this automatic enrichener. It was Moco's final master design stroke before changing to fuel injection.

It works that way because it's a friction nut for the adjustment that is plastic. It's a poor design, not brilliant. There is a reason that every Harley dealer you can find has them in stock.
