Default Changing stock pipes to vance hines

I want to change my stock exhaust to all black 3" vance hines slip on exhaust. Am i going to need a fuelpack as some sites suggest or am I okay with just changing exhuast and doing nothing else> I have a 2009 XL883N.
Thanks.

As long as you still have the stock air filtration system still in place you will be fine.

Yes, you will need to fix the lean condition if you add a free flowing air cleaner. Lean means, you have too much O2 in relation to fuel, which causes the engine to run hotter than it should. If you do get a tuner in the future, you should get something other than a Fuelpak. The Fuelpak is a very limited tuner. I'd consider something like a Powervision. They're expensive, over $500, but they are well worth the investment if you want your bike tuned correctly. A fuel pack will NOT give you a full tune! One cheaper option is to get some version of XIEDs for your model bike which will fix the lean condition but will not tune the bike. You will at least protect your engine from being too lean.
