I've never ridden a V star, but reckon the 883 will have less performance. However it is probably lighter than your 1100 and mine is perfectly happy whizzing along at 85mph. I do have a windshield and frankly am delighted with it's performance, it is better than I expected.
If after a while you feel you would like more go, we can help you convert it to a 1250. How does that sound?
Thanks guys If it can go to 85 mph without a problem then I think I will go with 883. I did not know they had 1250 kits for the 2011 + sportsters yet. Thanks
The Superlow will out accelerate a 1100 V-star big time.On the hiway the Superlow is buzzy above 70,but mine is smooth as glass between 60 and 70.From 50-60 it's one of the smoothest bikes I've even ridden, shocked me big time.I spend most of my freeway time at around 65,I like to enjoy the view and I ain't in no rush anymore to get anywhere.
Seriously considering the Superlow for Los Angeles freeway commuting. Has anybody swapped the footpegs for "normal" ones without the offset?
I have looked closely at other Sporties with 'normal' mids and wondered if they will swap over. SuperLow mids stick out too far, so do need some improvement.

Studying the pictures, it seems the brackets are the same, difference is all in the footpeg itself. I'll have to drop by my friendly dealer to have a closer look.

I've just looked at the microfiche parts list on Ronnies HD website and the same footrest hangers are shown with three different footrests. So it seems we can swap our SuperLow rests for either of the others. The options look like the metal pegs used on Buells (I have an XB), plus the rubber ones on normal Sporties.

I was away writing my last post when you posted, so we have come to the same conclusion!
