I own a Sportster 06 883L since a couple months and is the best bike ever!!!!
I'm starting to make my Sporty looks the way I like it the most, and I decided to replace the HARLEY DAVIDSON decal to a chrome emblem (I think it is a Harley Davidson dark custom emblem). I think it will look great!!
Any of you have done that? Do you have pics?
Do you know the best way to remove the stickers and not damage the paint? And to install the new one without falling off? (I bought it from ebay and its used so it has no glue on the back)
Most all the bikes I've ever had, the gas tank stickers were always underneath the clear coat. I really don't think you could remove it without "damaging the paint"
You should be able to easily tell if the sticker is above or below the clear coat.
I'm sure the decal is under the clear coat. I covered mine but I put stripes on the tank then the new decals over the top. You will need strong 3m double sided tape to put on the back of the new emblems to reattach them to your tank. I hope this helps
