I have both the Boot Dr mini floor boards (4"x6") and the HD branded Heel Raisers with the retractable heel rests. I've had each of them in the mid position and both have their plusses and minuses.
The one thing about the mini floor boards is when I'm stopped at a light I have to have my legs/feet behind the boards. Which, if someone doesn't have long legs, might make it a bit difficult. Also, when having to back up the bike, the boards do make it more of a challenge.
The Heel Raisers force you to have your feet in a wider riding position than the stock pegs (and even the mini boards) that may be uncomfortable for shorter legs.
Both can be comfortable but take some getting used to. I still haven't decided which I prefer in the mid position yet.
