How did you go from $,6,500 to $8,500? I think there is like a 3 day "cooling off" period. At 20%, I would run (not walk) from that "deal".

Well, that being said, enjoy your new scooter! After all, it's only money. Hope you can refinance soon. Take care & ride safe. I forgot about paying sales tax to the dealer in TX, we pay it to the state later in OK. BTW - I lived in Houston for seven years, Have a dozen raw oysters for me - something I really miss!
20percent is what they were going to do for me I said no and left. Glade I did becouse it was an 883. Few weeks latter found a same year (06) 1200 custom on craigslist for less money. Went to local credit union got it and am only paying 4 peercent interest. Harley is always high on there inteerst from what I hear.
Congrats to you, but I'd look into shopping around @ local financial institutions for a loan to pay-off your 20%'er...there's got to be cheaper $$$ out there for someone like you (young/student/starting out)...enjoy the scoot!
Agreed, I'd march down to your closest credit union with you down payment in hand and refi that puppy ASAP! I would think you could cut that interest rate in half at least! That rate is like quadruple the prime rate, that's ridiculous, even for someone with no credit. Now, if you have bad stuff on your record, that's a different story.
And congrats on the new scoot! now pick up a second job to pay your taxes

Lol.....you don't own anything, the bank does. They actually own you know ! I think that's round $14,500 for paying off the bike on time. For a $6500.00 new bike.
$8500 @20% interest for 72 months ... Do you really want that bill for a 883 Sportster?Tell the dealer you can not come up with the down payment and walk away.
