Default Sporty project

I picked up a 2004 sportster, completely dismantled, with no frame. It was a project that somebody bought and didn't get to. Where can I find a close to stock frame, or slightly modified.
I found some stock frames on flea bay, without titles by salvage places, would one of these work?
Never replaced a frame on any of my previous projects.

anything post 1970 has to have a vin & title. If you have the title with that motor & other bits for some reason you might be able to slip by. If you only have a bill of sale you will have to title it as Special Construction and that will require a frame from a company that will issue you a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO). Don't lose ANY receipts.

On the other hand, I just watched a stock frame (with title) sell on Ebay for 800. If you're patient another one will pop up. It basically depends on what you want to do with your bike.

I was hoping to find a frame and put it together as a play toy. Thought the easiest thing to do was find a stock frame, throw it together, and ride it. If I need to find a custom frame I wouldn't mind a frame to make it look like a low rider, or something similar.

I found some of the softtail frames, they look good, but if I pay $3000 for a frame and the $1000 for the frameless bike, I will end up with way more into this project than I could get for it. In the end it's still a sporty, no matter how much I spend to build it.

Is there someplace online to buy a replacement frame, prefer soft tail or swing arm.
