Default help with rear turn signal wiring with side mount taillight

I'm going to be making a side mount plate with taillight for my girlfriends 2005 sporty. I was looking through the service manual and I see that the rear turn signals plug into the taillight. If I remove the stock taillight what is the best way to wire up the turn signals. I tried searching but I'm not getting much luck. I'm sure this isn't the first time this question has been asked. Thanks in advance.

The "plug in" on the stock tail lamp on my 02 was a simple little circuit board of sorts, removable from the tail lamp. I extended my signal wire and brake lamp harnesses so that the circuit board is mounted under the seat. Used the factory connectors as well. Nice and clean IMO

I chopped my fender and deleted the tail light. I also added a side mount plate with only a plate light. Check your wiring diagrams. I deleted the circuit board and wired the turn signals directly. I believe it was a purple and black wire that goes to each. I tapped into the plate light wire under my seat. I also plugged in a run/turn/brake module which is what I tapped in to in order to keep the factory harness untouched. Adding a side mount tail light just just involve a couple more wires. I ran my plate light wire under the swingarm and up underneath the seat. Good luck!
