05 mini winter project
Narrowed tank and other stuff. Winter projects
Spring is here but not in Youngstown! It's freezing out and I'm bored so I decided to share some pics of my mini winter project. My girlfriend never liked the way her stock sporty looked. I used this winter to change it up a bit. I relocated the front turn signals down under the lower triple tree.
I've been working on narrowing her tank all winter. I'd work on it for a few hours a week and now it's pretty much done. I need to seal it and I was going to do it myself but I think I'm going to take it to a radiator shop and have them do it professionally. I don't want any gas leaking on my girlfriend. I cut out the old filler cap and added a bung king cap. I had to cut out the old petcock mount too because I dropped the tank on the petcock threads.
. I'm now using a 1/4 petcock bung welded into the bottom of the tank.
When the tank comes back from the radiator shop I've going to bondo the tank up and paint it.
I relocated the speedo using the auto meter clamp but I didn't take any pics. She wanted to get rid of her dummy lights so I cut all those out. I did leave the neutral indicator because she sometimes has a hard time finding neutral. I wired up a small LED into the choke lever bracket.
That's pretty much it for now. I absolutely hate how the stock seat and rear fender looks with the new skinny tank. That will be changing too. Maybe a Biltwell seat or one of those old gold garage cobra seats. Who knows...
What do you guys think I should do for new bars? Possibly some Biltwell Low drags..
