Ran a little low on $$$ to get my new rims & tires on as I decided to just pay it off instead. Won't go into deetz but lets just say my bank should have supplied the vasoline when for the "extra" charges they got me for. The bike was actually paid off in December....anyway I have new spokes for front & back, need to buy new tubes for them. Got the pipes on yesterday. I am going to go ahead and say if you are going to listen to V&H you will struggle....DO NOT put the heat shields on before you mount the pipes. You cannot get the head bolts on if you do as V&H instructs you to do in their instructions. After trying to put the first one on multiple times, dropping it in the dirt & finding it a few times or having to take the pipe back off and removing the sprocket cover a couple times to make sure that nut didn't fall in there I just took the heat shields off and they installed a little quicker Also they could have trimmed away some of the metal on their mount bracket that wasn't needed so I could have just used my socket allen wrenches for one or 2 bolts the high lip blocks. Bike sounds great IMHO. I have heard louder,I am sure if I took the baffles out it would be mega loud but I like it the way they are. Bike actually runs even smoother now
Nice bike, I love the sound on my V&H Straight Shot slip ons. They are loud enough for my son to drop what he's doing inside the house and run to the window to wave me in when I get home. The nieghbors might not be of the same opinion as I for the AM ride to work start up...
