Heated Grips?

Heated grips
I have had Heat Demons handle bar heaters on my Sportster for several years. One thing that I didn't see mentioned by others that I think is important to take into consideration is the type of grips you will use. Heat demons, at least, go inside the handle bars and are not actually part of the grips. This means you can use whatever grips you want, but most of the thicker grips or the metal grips have air space between the grip and the handle bar. Any grips with air space don't work well at all with that type of heater. Grips with direct contact, like coke bottle grips, work great with them. I do find that when it's really cold, the backs of my fingers sometimes get cold even while my palms are really hot. YMMV.

My wife has them on her Sporty. The grips, with her National Cycle hand deflectors, work well for her but, she really doesn't ride in that cold of weather. My dresser is the first bike I haven't had them on in 25 years. The bat wing is awesome in the cold and medium weight wind proof gloves are all you need even in bitter cold.
