last two rides i noticed a dragging noise coming from the front brake area. i looked at it today and noticed the spoke side of the caliper dragging on the disc. the pads look good. the wide spacer is on the disc side. what should i be looking for.
2008 xlc. 20,000 miles.

If you are hearing a woosh-woosh-woosh noise when brakes are applied, that noise is normal and created by the cooling vent holes in the rotor.
You will have to take the caliper apart... it is not as hard as it sounds but then you can take everything out AND CLEAN IT and then re assemble correctly.
oh if you are nervous just take pictures... lots of pictures. That way you know how to re assemble it when it is time.
if you have o-rings make sure they are good. if there is rust or pitting a fine wire brush can help you. (and a dremel lol )
i use a little brake fluid for lube but that's on you.
You meant "How do I fix it?"? Something wrong with your keyboard/keypad? Perhaps got dropped from elementary school?
FYI there is a special grease for brake pistons, to make them move freely, try it.
1. I had no idea this was a class.
2. i am on a phone where the keyboard is not the best.
3. to the point.
4. fyi, is that o.k. i have masters degree.
5. i know about brake grease.
6. it is the fixed side that is dragging.
7. f#%k you.

Or you can rotate the pistons out a little and use your tooth brush with some break clean to clean the pistons. After that you lubricate them and push them back into the bore's.
how long had the bike set since you rode it? some times a little rust /corrosion will cause this scraping sound for a few rides at the beginning of the riding season if bike was stored for a few months.
i am on my third tank of gas since taking it out of storage. i noticed it towards the end of the second tank. it looks like the mount is hitting the disc.
