Question Adjusting pushrods?

Hey everyone I'm looking to find out how to exactly adjust pushrods in a 87 sportster. The bike dies/chokes at the top end. The bike is stroked to a 1200, cammed, ss carb, pipes etc. if anyone could help me out and guide me to adjust the rods right that would be extremely helpful!! Thanks guys!!

Do you know what brand of adj pushrods they are? Threads per inch varies. What lifters are in it?

Super E? Have you tried bumping up the main jet?

I don't know how much tapping is normal for an 87, it's normal on the newer ones.

The cam could cause more noise too.

Stock hydraulic lifters? When you adjust them, you can adjust slightly past center of the lifter, that might help.

Mine was really noisy. It had N9 cams with Hydrosolid lifters. I switched back to OEM lifters, that helped some. But I finally switched to Hammer 560 cams, now it's pretty quiet.

If you count the threads per inch, and look up the lifter, you can figure the adjustment.
