Default Loose swingarm bolt

Yesterday enjoying myself riding around I felt something loose or wobbling,,, when I stopped and looked the bike over I noticed the swingarm bolt was loose and about an inch out of its hole... I carry a few tools so I tightened it up right away... Is this supposed to happen??? I'm being told it needs to be tightened with a torque wrench,,,any suggestions on how much torque is needed or just bring the bike in to the dealer...

Rear stabilizer link screw = 25-35 lbs

Is that what you're looking for? I can't find any other values in the service manual that would make sense for what you're describing.

That sounds more like it. Also, the swingarm pivot screw uses red loctite (to prevent this from happening).

Thumbs up

No it shouldn't happen! If you feel able to service your own bike and check these sorts of thing yourself, get a factory service manual, which will have torque settings and a load of other useful stuff. A bonus is that it is a really good read on sleepless nights!

almost without any doubt if your swing arm bolt is loose then the front lower motor mount will be as that is usually the first to loosen.
