Well, lets have a look at this shall we. It seems to me that the OP was complaining because they weren't a direct bolt on, or in his words they didn't "fit PERFECTLY". I don't think he bought them with the hopes that he would have to sand them down or whatever it is you did. In fact, in his original post, he clearly states that they will fit on the bike as long as your okay with grinding a piece down.

I know I got the right one and I know others that have had this issue.

So just a little notice before you go and buy the pegs..DONT buy them unless you want to grind down a piece of your bike.

His frustration derived from the vendor telling him that they would "fit" (as illustrated below).

Having said that, a great contribution to the forum would be writing up a "How to" for others who might have this issue.

his stuff is made by Performance Machine a very high quality parts company made in the USA. I actually think the Sand's family owns it but I could be wrong.

In any case, it's not their fault the 48 has a different clevis

Not their fault but they should know. I bought some aftermarket rotors for my 48, front bolted right up, no problems. Rear wouldnt work. Thats when I found out the 48 (and others now) have a smaller thicker rear rotor. Wasnt their fault the 48 was different..........they should know though. I think their listing said something like 2004 and up sportster.

All RSD products are built in the USA.

I had RSD pegs on my 48 for a short period of time before switching over to a set of Joker Machine pegs however, when I purchased my 48, I had the dealer swap out the forward controls for a set of mid controls off a Nightster. I like mid controls for a racier look.

Dennis Kirk made an honest mistake. They deal with a ton of parts and different bikes and cannot be 100% right all the time. With every part I have purchased, where I thought there might be a fit issue, I have always called the manufacturer to make sure the part fits. The 48 is unique and somewhat of a new bike, so companies are still figuring out what works and what doesn't.
