Default neutral indicator issue

This just started happening a few days ago where my green N indicator would not light up with I go into Neutral. It works sometimes but sometimes it doesnt. could this be maybe a loose wiring?
What can I do to remedy this?

That the only issue you are having, I had the same thing. Until I noticed my fuel gauge not working then it was my headlight. Ended up being a relay, just some info.

check relay but also be sure that you really are IN neutral. if you are sorta in neutral the bike will act as neutral but if you push it you will hear some slight grinding- and the neutral light wont be on. you have to be clearly in neutral for the light to be on.

Could be a loose connection or the neutral switch might be starting to go bad.

Mine starting acting up a few years ago and then went out for good - replaced the switch and no problems since.

The neutral switch is on top of the transmission case, w/a single wire leading to it w/a "cup shaped" connector. It's in a spot that collects crud, so the first thing to do is pull the wire an ensure that you've got a clean connection. Second thing would be to make sure that the lightbulb is firmly seated in the socket. Next, would be to check the neutral indicator switch.

+1. I had the same problem. Cleaned out the crud. Works great and is a lot brighter now.
