Default Random cutting out

So twice now I have had my bike cut out on me. Bike is new to me, first ride yesterday it cut out randomly when I was just cruising in 4th. Today I pulled out to pass in 5th gear and a few seconds after my pass a backfire and cut out I pulled over figured I was almost out of fuel switched it to reserve and bike fired right up and drove fine to gas station. Only took 11 bucks so then Im thinking I have some kind of an intermittent issue going on here. The bike is a 94 883 with 1200 big bore, alyways runs, idles, starts fine just this weird cut out randomly. It doesn't have a speedo or tach on the bike just has the little thing with your signal flashers, and neutral light, I did notice when my right signal is on the flasher doesn't always flash so I wiggle the wire on the back of it and it starts so its a little lose right at the plastic part maybe I can glue it.....I cant see that being the issue but thought I would mention it. I did put a wrench on the battery connections when I got home to make sure they were good and tight as well. Anyone else out there have/had a similar issue to this?? Im a little bummed as I just bought the bike.

I'd probably drain the fuel bowl first just to be sure there isn't water or trash in it, especially since this bike is new to you.Can be accessed from the left side between the jugs. Need a long flat head. Shine a flashlight at the carb bowl and you'll see the screw at the bottom.be sure to pull the drain hose out (usually runs along the top of the cam cover back toward the starter) and let it run into something like a glass jar so you can see what comes out. If it looks ok i would check the ignition. I had a 2000 883 that, when we first got it, it would cut out, just for a split second, while i rode it home.Would do it every now and then.idled fine, good power. Spark looked good. I put my IH coil on it and it ran fine, so I put a new coil on. After a few days started doing it again. Ended up being the ignition module. Also check the push-on connectors at the coil. Had it just die one day, no spark, so I pulled the connectors, they looked clean, and I bent them just a little with some needle nose pliers and took care of that.

According to your description of the problem, this is your most likely culprit.

Alright I appreciate the input, I will check those things tonight if I get time. I have been doing some reading on here with sportsters with similar issues, seems the ignitions have done symptoms like this before as well
