Default Question about checking front end critical fasteners

Hello all,

In following the process for checking the fasteners on the front end, the manual did not specify whether the bike should be lifted off the ground or not. My upper pinch screws were a bit loose and I torqued them down to spec. I am also going to check adjustments to the upper stem bolt. When making adjustment to the upper stem bolt and upper and lower pinch screws, does the bike need to be jacked up, or can these adjustments be made while the bike is on the ground?

No, not necessary. Front-end only needs to be elevated if checking neck bearing tension/fall away. You will have to loosen the lower pinch bolts in order to make any adjustments to your stem bolt/trees.
