Heck yeah, I love that. I got lost yesterday on a 4.5hr ride. I just headed out and took some turns that looked cool and ended up finding Fort Mountain, just East of Chatsworth, GA. The road is very scenic and winding kind of like a mini Deals Gap from what I've heard about it.
I got lost on Saturday. It was fun, but would have been a lot more fun had I brought my GPS. No cell signal to use the maps on the iPhone, no road signs, nobody else around for 2 hours.
Road went from two lanes, to one lane, to one lane with numerous potholes outlined in neon spraypaint. I was up in the hills going in and out of clearcut areas.
By the time I got back to civilization I was 40 miles from where I started in the *wrong* direction. Apparently I needed to take an even smaller side road over a ridge to get where I thought I was going...
The handheld GPS now has a permanent home in the saddlebag.
As long as I have gas in the tank I never consider myself lost, I'm just exploring new territory. I guess I'm lucky to live in land that is so flat that you can always see the next town across the fields.
