2003 1200C issues
Hey all, I have had my XL1200C for about 6 years. A couple of years ago I stored the bike and didn't pull it out of the garage until a couple of weeks ago. Like an idiot, I stored it with gas in the tank. I knew when I pulled it out the gas was going to need changing so I took off the tank, emptied it, and put 2 gallons of fresh gas in. I took the petcock off when I emptied the tank and took it apart and cleaned it. So I go to start it, naturally she doesn't want to start. I take the breather off, spray a little fresh gas in, pull the choke, and she fires up. Sits there about ten minutes, I try to give a little throttle and the motor cuts off. And will not start again. I've sprayed a couple of sprays of gas in the carb like before and nothing. I'm thinking I need to tear the carb down and attempt to clean it, only problem is I've never done it and don't want to f*ck it up. Any other suggestion?
