I was going round a bend to the right, leaning over to the right. My Dunflops slipped out in the rear, gripped again and the bike flipped over to the left and threw me off. My head met the ground hard (thank you helmet) and at some stage the spinning bike nudged me in the back.
Damaged left foot peg, left mirror, left control pods, handlebars damaged, battery cover damaged and a nice dent in the tank.
Broke my ankle and dislocated my shoulder but it set itself.
I'm hobbling around on crutches for 6 weeks.
Get this, my leather jacket doesn't have a single scratch my boots are busted but they weren't expensive. I'll need a new helmet.
I guess I'll have to choose a new tank, bars and mirrors...
I'm impressed with my insurance, they are hassling me to get everything fixed.
Very glad to hear your injuries are not severe and you are up and about. I just had a spill during a track day about 8 weeks ago with 5 breaks around my body so I know where you are coming from. Heal up quick, bother.
Glad your ok. Strange what gets tore up and what doesnt. My son had a similar spill last year, only on a left turn. There were good gashes or holes in his boots, riding pants, riding jacket and gloves..............not even the slightest scratch on his helmet! He was a little more lucky than you, only a bruised calf.
