speedometer does not shut off

Default speedometer does not shut off
Hi everyone,

I ran into a strange problem yesterday when i parked my bike after work. The speedometer remained on. THe needle was set, backlight on and odometer on, and able to switch between trip odometers as well. The speedo will momentarily shut off if i hit either brake or the horn button. The only way to get the speedo to shut off and stay off is to pull the fuse labeled "bat" in the manual. Any idea what is going on here?

Are you turning the key all the way off, or only turning it to ACC-accessory?

yes, the ignition is definently off. Nothing else works such as running lights, brake lights, horn, turn signals etc. Just the speedometer remains on.

did you do any work on your bike lately? Look for kinked or pinched wires...

no work done lately, Only thing that has happened is i got caught in the rain a few days ago. I will start checking connectors for water.
