Default My comparison so far

I finally got a day to go out and put a 100+ on my new 883C and was asked by a Honda site to give a comparison between my 2 bikes. I have a 06' Honda Shadow VLX600 Dlx & an 06'HD XL883C.
The Harley is a bigger bike so of course it's got more power but there are alot of comparisons to make. Now my Shadow is my first street bike and a cool bike.Well the 883 is just in another world IMO!I drive plenty of twisties and hills & mountains here in WV and they both handle them good, the HD a little better, the brakes are waaaaaaay better on my HD than the Shadow, the Shadow brakes work fine but they seem real cheap and flimsy if that's what you wanna call it.That is 1 thing that got me on the Sporty when I drove my buds 1200.Basically the 883 just makes my Shadow feel like a cheaply made bike as far as materials & what not,I now feel like I was reemed hard with no lube paying $5800 for my Shadowcompared to$7400 for my Sporty[:@]My Shadow is a nice little rider and the motor is bullet proofbut doesn't hold anything to my Sporty and I am now sold all the way.I have also drove a 750 Areo Shadow and that is a little bigger bike but still is made basically the same as my VLX600 so that displacement difference doesn't matter. The Sporty is just plain and simple a better built and safer bike IMO & that's what the Honda riders seem to say is that Honda's are made better,I ask you where? The motor is bulletproof but the rest of the bike is cheaply made compared to the HD so I have no clue where they get that from. Not to mention all the available aftermarket do-dads they make for a Sporty puts it way over the top as far as purchasing 1 or the other for me.

Seems like a good review to me.There is a side benefit to buying a Harley. The money(most of it stays in the USA) that helps with the trade deficits we encounter. It also helps a fellow american provide for their family instead of a family across the pond. That american then can buy things from another american so they can provide for their family. When the money leaves the USA it hurts everyone of us bar none. The money that goes across the pond can be used to build up military forces or develope weapons that could be used against us one day.pretty strong benefit if you ask me to buy american if possible.

Harley is a much more solid bike than honda. It's that American Iron.A guy I work with picked up a used 750 shadow just to beat on.Boy what a chincy bike, but dam that engine wont give up.We work at an airport and he fills it with 110 octane av gas. He rides it constantly red lined The engine gets so hot you could roast a hotdog from ten feet away.He knows its a piece of crap but thats why he likes it.A true beater.I have to agree with diablo as far as keeping our money in the U.S.A. Its ashame so many people buy japanese bikes and cars and in doing so hurt the american economy.

If you post that review on the Honda site you won't be very popular.

I guess folks on here only want Americans to eat.I myself am concerned with hungry people the world over.Sounds like devilboy(666) is a little paranoid. He's got missiles dropping on us for buying Japanese.[sm=bounceybounce.gif]

Did you ever hear of a country named China?I said buy American as much as possible. We are already paying for people to eat the wotld over with taxes we pay while people in our country starve and have little clothing to wear.I don't mean the bums and crack heads either. If you can't see our maunfacturing jobs leaving the country I don't know what to tell you.Making actual products is what supports an economy.China has a new car they will be exporting to the USA.I suppose you will be the first in line to get one in red no doubt.

Harley's are assembled in America - some parts on a Harley are manufacture in China and Mexico and from all over the world. Bottom line, bottom line, bottom line...
